Force them towards the sideline or in the middle on the ride?
Not all, but most rides start with the coaches having to make this decision. Where do I want to force the other team to go? This is the foundation of your riding philosophy.
The Man to Man Goalie Jump Ride
The goalie jump man ride is a simple ride that is good for youth lacrosse as it is possibly the easiest ride to teach. The objective of this ride is to play man coverage where we match feet with all field players and leave the goalie uncovered.
Open Clear Buster 10 Man Ride
The objective of this ride is to cover the areas of the field where teams like to throw easy passes by pushing players forward and allowing the clearing team to have the extra man advantage near our goal instead of near their goal as we traditionally do when we are riding.
33 Zone Ride
The objective of this zone is to shift our attack and middie lines across the field laterally to allow over passes from one defender to another, forcing harder passes and removing the easy opportunity for the clearing team to manipulate an attackman who is near the midfield line.
42 Lacrosse Ride
The 42 Ride is a simple ride that can be utilized in different ways. We will go over how to utilize this ride to prevent transition, how to force difficult throws, and how to force a defender to use their legs to clear.
