4 man 2 ball

A great stick work drill to start every practice or warm up before games where players get into small groups of 4 and get a lot of touches.  I really like this drill as it is an alternative to the old school line drills as the kids get many more touches.

  • Separate into groups of 4, can be separated into a group of 3 if need be

  • 2 players stand 15 yards apart

  • While running, each middle player passes the ball to the teammate at the end, who will then pass the ball right back to the running player, who continues to run and do the passing with the player on the other side.

  • Switch the players on the outside with the players in the middle at a designated time or until exhaustion, depending on your goals and practice schedule at that moment.

  • Make sure the ball is getting in and out of the stick as quickly as possible!

Depending on where the ball is received this drill can also be modified to work on:

  • Ground balls rolling away from the player in motion

  • Ground balls rolling to the player in motion

  • Over the shoulder passes

  • Quick sticks

  • Etc… be creative!
